The webinar will discuss a variety of topics, some among others are; the UK proposal to regulate fire safety and require BIM and other measures to secure the golden thread of information. From the international perspective, differences in regulatory systems will be examined in relation to digitalization, e.g. prescriptive regulations, performance-based approaches and the digital evolution of code-compliance.
Hosting the webinar is the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), a professional society representing those practicing the field of fire protection engineering. The Society has over 4,600 members and 101 chapters, including 21 student chapters worldwide. The purpose of SFPE is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members and to foster fire protection engineering education.

The project runs from September 2019 to the spring of 2021, and is part of the strategic innovation program Smart Built Environment, funded by Vinnova (Sweden’s Innovation Agency), the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas (Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development).
